The public is invited to attend an information meeting to discuss improvements on Route 9 (South Broadway) in Tarrytown from Route 119 and the New York State Thruway’s (I-87/I-287) Interchange 9 ramps.

The open house session is scheduled to take place from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wed., Oct. 4, at the DoubleTree Hotel at 455 S. Broadway in Tarrytown.

The project involves multimodal improvements to existing traffic flow, including adding a second left turn lane from southbound Route 9 onto the Interchange 9 entrance ramp, widening the interchange ramp and installing a new traffic signal at Paulding Avenue. Additionally, a new side path and bridge for pedestrians and bicyclists will be built to the west of the existing vehicular bridge on Route 9 over the New York State Thruway. Construction is expected to begin in the summer of 2018 and take approximately one year to complete.

Representatives from the Thruway Authority and the New York State Department of Transportation will be available to answer questions about displays and information boards. There will not be a formal presentation.
