A New Bridge For A New Year Project Webcams Capture Years of Progress

The project team is ringing in the new year by reflecting on the progress on the Hudson River, captured by the project’s many construction webcams.

Watch as construction progresses from October 2013, with the installation of the first steel foundations, to the opening of the first span last August. Work now continues on the second span of the Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge, which is scheduled to open to traffic later this year.

The I Lift NY super crane has proved to be a crucial part of the project’s continued success. The machine has allowed Tappan Zee Constructors (TZC) to efficiently and safely raise enormous materials for the new bridge and lower large sections of the old bridge. The super crane will continue to assist with construction and dismantling efforts throughout the early half of 2018.

Those interested in watching construction history in the making are invited to view the daily progress via the webcams and photo gallery on the project website.
