Tappan Zee Constructors this week lowered the 532-foot-long center span of the retired Tappan Zee Bridge, the first of five massive main span sections of steel to be removed this year.

Tappan Zee Constructors is placing the remaining girders for the eastbound span above River Road and Piermont Avenue.

The project gallery features a new selection of aerial photography, highlighting progress on the new eastbound span, as well as dismantling efforts on the old bridge.
The I Lift NY super crane installed the project's final massive steel blue girder assembly, bringing the eastbound span of the Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge one step closer to completion.
