The first transition of traffic to the new Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge is scheduled to occur during the overnight of Friday, Aug. 25.

As preparations advance on the first span of the Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge, Tappan Zee Constructors continues construction of the second cable-stayed span.
After successfully facilitating the completion of the westbound towers and stay cables, two of the project's four red tower cranes were recently retired, marking the end of major construction efforts on the westbound span of the newly named Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge.
The latest update to the project gallery includes new aerial photography of the twin-span bridge and its support structures, such as the recently completed concrete noise barriers in Rockland County.
