Local schools are once again invited to help name the hatchlings of the Tappan Zee peregrine falcons. Elementary and middle school classes can share their suggestions throughout this month as part of the New NY Bridge project's annual Falcon Naming Contest. The public will then have an opportunity to weigh in on the students' choices during a week-long online poll in May.
The I Lift NY super crane recently returned to the Rockland side of the Hudson River in advance of the New NY Bridge project's next structural steel operation.  Tappan Zee Constructors is using the crane's powerful lifting capabilities to set four girder assemblies on the eastbound span near the Rockland landing.

The Tappan Zee Bridge's peregrine falcons are nesting again in the structure's man-made nest box.  These remarkable creatures, which are the fastest members of the animal kingdom, can now be seen sitting on eggs on the project's live FalconCam.

Onlookers were treated to a brief preview of the New NY Bridge's night-time illuminations as the project team held the aesthetic lighting system's first preliminary test.
