The New NY Bridge project team is celebrating the end of a highly productive year with the publication of its winter 2016 magazine, available now. The issue highlights the project's latest construction activities, including the completion of the lion's share of substructure work, the placement of more than a mile of enormous steel-blue girder assemblies and the installation of hundreds of concrete road deck panels.

Embracing the giving spirit of the holiday season, Tappan Zee Constructors, LLC (TZC) and the New York State Thruway Authority partnered with several groups to provide food, clothes and presents for those less fortunate.

The New NY Bridge outreach team met with students from Liberty Elementary in Valley Cottage, who created birthday cards in celebration of the Tappan Zee Bridge's 60th anniversary.

A renewed state and village partnership to determine the final alignment of - and parking for - the new bike and pedestrian path in Rockland continues to make progress.
At a village board meeting on Tuesday, December 1, members of South Nyack's Tappan Zee Bridge Task Force reported on concepts developed collaboratively with the New NY Bridge project team.

With hundreds of craftsmen working through all kinds of conditions, safety remains the top priority of the New NY Bridge project team. As the bridge continues to take shape above the Hudson, more and more crew members are working at higher and higher elevations. With the work going increasingly vertical, Tappan Zee Constructors, LLC is increasing its safety focus on training workers how to eliminate falls.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q:
What will happen to the current bridge?
